Happy Twelve Months!

Happy First Birthday, Jolie! Wow - How fast the year went by! Jolie is already a year old! Jolie is crawling around everywhere and getting into everything and anything she can get her hands on. "No, Jolie" is not one of Jolie's favorite phrases. She usually just giggles at us and continues to get into mischief. She's starting to talk a little. She says "Hi" and "Bye-Bye". Her favorite toys are the phone, shape sorters, Navi the cat and, of course, Josh. Josh and Jolie love to play peek a boo and hide and seek. Jolie loves to crawl and chasing after him. Happy Eleven Months!

*~*~* Jolie's Eleven Month Old *~*~* On April 7, 2003, Jolie officially started crawling! She has 6 pearly white teeth and loves to show you how sharp they are by teething on your hand. Cheerios are her solid food of choice. Self feeding is the only way to go according to Jolie. Jolie likes to play Peek a Boo and Patty Cake and will join in with the hand motion when you start to sing the songs. She loves to play with her toy phone and say "Hi". She likes to wave to people as if she were a princess with the "turn the door knob" hand twist. She is down to one nap a day from about 1 - 2:30 in the afternoon. Bedtime is still around 7, and she'll usually sleep till 8. Jolie received her birthday present early from Popsey and Gramsey - a child's rocker with her name enscribed on it (see photo to left).

*~*~* Jolie's Ten Month Old *~*~* Jolie is starting to progress from being a baby to being a toddler. On February 15, 2003, Jolie tasted solid food for the first time. She didn't think too much of the rice cereal, but she likes oatmeal and carrots. She also likes to play with Cheerios. Of course, her favorite food is still Mama's Milk! Jolie learned to roll from back to tummy. She is often found sleeping on her tummy. She likes to stand holding on to the sofa and play with her toys. Although Jolie is not "officially" crawling, she can maneuver around to get to things that she wants to play with. She is starting to scoot around backwards - army crawl style. Jolie is sporting three teeth with three more about to come in.

*~*~* Jolie's Nine Month Old *~*~* Jolie drinks water from a straw at Josh's birthday dinner at Chili's. Once again, Jolie catches a cold from Josh. At her 9 month Dr. appt, she was 27 1/2 inches (50%-ile) and20 lbs 5.5 ozs(80%-ile). She's still only on Mama's Milk, too! Jolie has officially moved from three to two naps a day. She sleeps about 12 hours at night and takes 2 naps (1 - 1 1/2 hours) during the day. Jolie loves to sit and play with her toys around her. She has no motivation to crawl or roll to get her toys although she does reach out pretty far to get them. Happy Eight Months!

*~*~* Jolie's Eight Month Old *~*~* While Gramsey and Popsey were visiting, Jolie learned to clap her hands and roll over from tummy to back. Every time, we put her on her tummy she springs back to her back in no time. Jolie loved her First Christmas. She received lots of cute clothes and toys. Of course, she loved playing in the wrapping. Christmas was at home with Nana, Uncle Bruce, Aunt Andrea and BriBri. Jolie started babbling all the time. Her favorite saying is ba-ba, but she can also say da-da, ma-ma and ya-ya.

*~*~* Jolie's Seven Month Old *~*~* Jolie went to her First Family Reunion (November 7 - 13, 2002) in Orlando, FL. She did very well meeting several family members and playing pass the baby. She got to go to Disney-MGM and Disney Animal Kingdom. She found the Jungle Ride at Animal Kingdom a very nice place to sleep. With all the bounces and bumps, it rocked her to sleep. Jolie's First Thanksgiving was at Nana's house. Jolie napped while everyone enjoyed the turkey.

*~*~* Jolie's Six Month Old *~*~* At Jolie's Six Month appt, she weighed in at a whopping 18 lbs 4 oz (90%-ile) and is 25 1/2 in (50%-ile) long with a head circumference of 43 1/2 cm. The Dr said that she can start solid food any time we want her to, but there's no rush since she's thriving well on just Mama's Milk. We'll probably wait till she's 8 or 9 months before starting her on solids. She can sit up on her own for several minutes and play with her toys before tipping over. She went to her first Pumpkin Patch and went Tricker Treating with Josh. Josh dressed as Bob the Builder, and he wanted Jolie to dress as Wendy. Happy Five Months!

*~*~* Jolie's Five Month Old *~*~* Josh gave Jolie her first cold. Unfortunately, it turned into bronchitis. Luckily, it didn't seem to bother her too much. Jolie loves to giggle and laugh especially around Josh, the ultimate comedian. She is starting to enjoy playing in her exersaucer. She can transfer her toys from one hand to the other. She loves to chew on everything, but her favorite is Daddy's hands and fingers. Nana started babysitting Jolie every Friday. So, Mommy and Josh can go to BSF. Jolie has been doing well taking a Mama's milk bottle from Nana.

*~*~* Jolie's Four Month Old *~*~* Jolie is such a happy and easy going baby! She is very easy to console and actually stays fairly calm everywhere we go including during church. At her 4 month appt, Jolie weighed in at 15 lb 2 oz (80%-ile) and is 24 1/4 in (50%-ile) long with a head circumference of 41 cm (60%-ile). Jolie loves to chew on anything and everything she can get her hands on! She likes her beaded bracelet the best. On August 24th, Jolie started to sleep through the night consistantly! We finally figured out a schedule that works. She loves to take baths just before bed. After bath, Mommy feeds her. She goes to bed around 8 pm then gets a night cap around 11 pm. Jolie usually sleeps till 7:30/8 am. Mommy and Daddy evicted Jolie from their room to her own room on her 4 Month birthday (September 7, 2002). Happy Three Months!

*~*~* Jolie's Three Month Old *~*~* Jolie took her first airplane ride to Seattle (August 2 - 13). She did great on the flights. She slept most of the time both ways. She met several friends and family. She seemed to do quite well at "pass the baby." Her adventures included riding the Space Needle and a ferry boat. She spent most of her days playing with her cousins, Nate and Briana and brother, Josh. Jolie found her thumb on our trip! She also found her voice. She loves to talk and coo!

*~*~* Jolie's Two Month Old *~*~* At Jolie's 2-Month Appt, she weighed 11 lbs 9 ozs (60-65%-ile) and 22 inches long (55%-ile). The Dr. said that she's in perfect health and was surprised how strong she is. I guess the Mommy Milk is working! She nurses about every 2.5 - 3 hours during the day. Jolie slept through the night on July 2 (10:45 pm to 7:00 am)! Unfortunately, it was a one time only shot. She is averaging 6 to 7 hours of sleep during the first stretch of the night, but it's from 9:30 pm to 4:00 am usually. She loves to play under her Gymani and take naps in her swing. She started laughing at/with Mommy and Daddy at 6 weeks. Josh is one of her most favorite things to watch. Josh loves to kiss and hold her. ***Jolie's Second Month Photos***

*~*~* Jolie's One Month Old *~*~* On June 7th, Jolie turned one month old. It's amazing how quickly this month has gone. Jolie is mild tempered and loves to be held and cuddled. She hardly cries and when she does it's a nice quiet cry (even quieter than Josh's). She started smiling in response to Mommy and Daddy at 4 weeks. She's likes to stay up late with Mommy and Daddy after Big Brother, Josh, goes to bed. She doesn't like to go to bed until after 11 pm and will sleep up to 4 or 5 hours before she wants to eat again. Then, she'll sleep another 2 or 3 hours. Mommy is getting use to the lack of sleep, but is hoping that Jolie learns to sleep through the night within the month (Josh was 8 weeks when he slept through the night). ***Jolie's First Month Photos***
